Awkwafina
Awkwafina was initially an American performer and rapper, performing sly tunes that dealt with questions of race and sexuality with a humorous twist. Prior to her move into Hollywood the singer had the opportunity to make a few songs. Nora Lum was born to Chinese Korean immigrants living in Forest Hills Queens. Her first exposure to music was from the trumpet. The classical, jazz, and hip-hop training began as she was a teenager. When she was in high the school, she focused on women's studies and journalism. She also studied Mandarin during a time in Beijing. Not until after graduation did she start focusing on music. Following her viral success through the Internet and her own My Vag song My Vag was a reaction to Mickey Avalon's My Dick. It eventually made its way onto the debut album Yellow Ranger. On the album, there were other viral hits including Queef (body-positive) and NYC Bitche$. The single that debuted was directly connected to The Awkwafinas Guide to NYC, her guide to travel in 2015. In addition to having a book published as well, she also worked as a performer. In addition to early shows like Girl Code and Tawk she was also in films like Neighbors 2, Storks and Bad Rap. In the year 2018 she got several notable roles including Dude Ocean 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. Then in June, she launched the EP In Fina We Trust.
