
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player who is captain and striker with the San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) which is the top division of women's professional soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team alongside Carli Lloyd and Megan rapinoe from 2018 until 2020. [8][98][9] Morgan was chosen as the top pick in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she completed her degree early at the University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. Morgan made her professional debut there , and was a key player in helping the team win the league title. Morgan, then 22 years old, was the youngest national player in the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011 and finished second. In the 2012 London Olympics Morgan scored the match-winning goal in the 123rd minute in the semi-final match against Canada. The 2012 season ended with 21 and 28 goals. assists, joining Mia Hamm as the only American woman who scored 20 goals and provide 20 assists during the same calendar year , making her the sixth and youngest U.S. player to score 20 goals in one season. The following year, she was awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Athlete of the Year , and was also a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan was also instrumental in helping the United States winning their titles during the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup. Morgan was selected to the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
